Ulrich Pohl - Professor Emeritus (Physiology)
Research Topics
- Endothelium
- Microcirculation
- Connexins / Gap junctions
Currently, Prof. Pohl serves as Secretary General of the International Union of Physiological Sciences (IUPS) representing physiology worldwide. Until retirement, the Pohl Lab investigated the regulatory mechanisms of local blood flow in the microcirculation. We focussed on the coordination of blood vessel function within organs via blood flow (flow-dependent dilatio) and gap junctional communication.
