DFG continues to fund CRC 1064

The Collaborative Research Cluster 1064 "Chromatin Dynamics" (CRC 1064), which started in 2013, will be funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for another four years after a successful review. This was announced by the DFG on May 25.

Scientists from LMU, TU Munich, Helmholtz Zentrum München and the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry have joined forces in the research network to investigate fundamental aspects of chromatin organization and dynamics striving for an integrated understanding of the processes in the cell nucleus. The spokesperson of CRC 1064 is Prof. Peter Becker, Chair of Molecular Biology at BMC.

The successful collaboration in CRC 1064 - as reflected, among other things, in numerous publications - is flanked and promoted by a seminar program with renowned speakers, the organization of international symposia and the comprehensive support of young scientists in a graduate program. A gender program is also part of the CRC 1064's offer to its members. As a new element in the 3rd funding period, the CRC will develop an Open Science Program to provide best practice guidance for the participating scientists on how to acquire, analyze, store, publish and make available data.
