Second convention of the BMC group leaders
On May 17-18, the second retreat of the BMC group leaders took place in the Haus der bayerischen Landwirtschaft, a conference center in Herrsching on Lake Ammer. The diverse program started with short presentations by BMC scientists on "hot topics" in their fields of research, including phase separation, cell state and fate as well as advances in protein analyses.
On Friday evening, Prof. Dieter Frey, Director of the Center for Leadership and People Management and Professor emeritus of the chair of social psychology of the LMU, gave a talk on “Leadership and its consequences for excellence-culture and respect-culture“. The following lively discussions were continued in the Bierstüberl and at the bowling alley of the conference center.
On Saturday, the annual BMC Members’ Meeting took place. Current topics and strategies for the future development of the BMC were discussed, and board members were elected for the next 2 year term. The coffee breaks, common meals and a stroll on the lake offered ample opportunities for informal exchange and networking.
