Core Facility Flow Cytometry recognized for excellence in management and operations

The Core Facility Flow Cytometry (CFFlowCyt) at BMC has been acknowledged as ISAC Recognized Shared Resource Laboratory. It is one of only eight Core Facilities worldwide to receive this title.

The International Society for Advancement of Cytometry (ISAC) has recently launched a program to recognize Core Facilities that demonstrate excellence in management and operations. Applicants are evaluated in a multi-stage process and have to prove adherence to defined standards in various aspects of management and operations. Particular attention is paid to the areas of quality control and assurance, data management, standard operating procedures, training, laboratory safety and staffing.
"The acknowledgement as ISAC Recognized SRL is a great endorsement for our team," said Ludger Klein, Scientific Head of CFFlowCyt. "It is a recognition of our high standards that gives us international visibility and opens new doors for collaborations."
The recognition was presented for the first time this year. CFFlowCyt is one of only two successful European applicants. The other six acknowledged facilities are located in the USA and Canada.

The CFFlowCyt is one of six core facilities at the Biomedical Center. Established in 2016, it provides scientists at BMC and beyond with access to state-of-the-art technologies in flow cytometry and cell sorting.
